Celebrating Nigeria’s independence

Celebrating Nigeria’s independence on the First of October is an important tradition that helps instill a sense of
patriotism and national pride in children. It’s crucial for young ones to learn about the historical events and
heroes that contributed to Nigeria gaining independence. They were educated about the sacrifices and
struggles of the past, in order to develop a deeper appreciation for their country and its journey to freedom.
The children were talked to about the heroes and heroines who played significant roles in Nigeria’s
independence which is an excellent way to inspire them and foster a sense of national identity.
We emphasized the importance of unity and love among the children is crucial for fostering a strong sense of
national identity and promoting harmony within the country. Nigeria is a diverse nation with various ethnicity,
cultures, and languages, and teaching children to embrace unity which will help them appreciate and respect
the differences that exist among their fellow citizens.
