In today’s digital age, ensuring that pupils are equipped with digital literacy skills and understand
the importance of safeguarding their digital footprint online is crucial. As technology continues to
evolve, it is essential to provide children with the knowledge and tools to navigate the online world
safely. The incident where a child said someone requested personal information from an online
game called Roblox highlights the need for robust measures to protect a child’s online identity.
Children are more active online nowadays. As a child-centred school and concerned about the all-
round welfare of the children we ensure the safety of our children is our worry both online and
offline.
During the teaching session on digital literacy, the emphasis was based on the importance of
responsible online behavior, protecting personal information and thinking before they post, as
online actions can have lasting implications on their personal lives.
Together with collaborating with parents and guardians, we will appreciate our parents keeping
open conversations with their children about online safety and establishing rules and boundaries
for internet usage at home. As young learners with the right knowledge, they are equipped with
skills to protect their digital identity and create positive online experiences.
